Have tried to set up an image field for an opening screen. I follow the help manual and use OBJECTS/CUSTOMFIELD/IMAGE drag the field but then it comes up as "Image Definition" does not display, it comes up with "Field Definition" with no facility to define the image required.
What I want to do is ultimately create an "Action button" with a bespoke Icon in the middle of it.
Is this a bug in the program or is it me (It probably is me)

Hi Bryan.
The Imagefield is simply a text field that replace the field with the picture stored in the field. With picture we mean the name/path of the picture.
If you use just the name ex. image.gif, the picture need to be stored in the image path. The best is if the picture is stored in the application catalog, because then it will travel.
You can use both virutal and stored values. If you want to make a "fixed" image field you simply write "image.gif" in the derivation formula.
We hope this helps.
