New ONLINE Help Files for DataEase is now available.

The new Online help files for DataEase 7.2 is now available on this site. Please select Help in the menu at the left side of the screen and you will be directed directly to the menu page for the new help system.

We are sorry that 7.2 were launched without full help files and that it has taken this long for us to make the available online.

DataEase has, as you all would know by now, been taken over by a new team. Our first task has been to "straighten" out 7, which has been a tougher task then one would have assumed. As the users of both 7.0 and 7.1 would be painfully aware of, both these products lacked a lot when it came to both functionality and stability.

With a relatively small team, split between future (DEIGHT) and present (7.2) it will be a balancing act where to spend the resources. As 7.2 was launched initially to help the existing 7.x users, that are all experienced DataEase users, we decided to launch it prior to having all the "extras" ready.

It therefore came as somewhat of a "surprise" on us, how many new users we have got on 7.2. As intuitive DataEase is intended to be, neither DQL, OML or the finer parts of BRL etc. are easily navigable by inexperienced DataEase users on their first voyage, so we decided to change our priorities slightly and improve the samples applications and put the help files online for all to take advantage of.

We are also working on a complete Tutorial Application that will in a structured way show how each function, command, method, action and property is to be used, can be exploited  and clever methods of how to work around the many shortcomings that is still in our product.
